Ways to Take Action for Palestine

The fight for Palestinian liberation is a fight against genocide, settler colonialism, and imperialism. It is not enough to be quietly sympathetic - now is the time to be unapologetically loud and unwavering in our solidarity. Palestinians are resisting in the face of mass killings, forced displacement, and a system designed to erase them. Do not let institutions, workplaces, or communities remain complicit. Interrupt their silence. Demand action. Speak out.

1. Fund Direct Mutual Aid

Israel and Western governments control the flow of traditional humanitarian aid, often preventing it from reaching Palestinians. Bypass these restrictions by directly funding Palestinians themselves.

  • Gazafunds on Linktree – A vetted collection of direct fundraisers supporting Palestinian families, medical aid, and grassroots efforts.

  • Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund – Provides medical care and humanitarian relief directly to Palestinian children.

  • Sunbula – Supports Palestinian artisans and cooperatives, allowing them to maintain economic independence.

Directly support Palestinian survival and resistance.

2. Be Explicit: This Is Genocide and Settler Colonialism

Do not soften your language. Do not allow institutions, governments, or media to dilute what is happening. Call it what it is:

  • Israel is committing genocide, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid.

  • Zionism is a settler-colonial project.

  • The Nakba never ended - this is an ongoing catastrophe.

Silence is complicity. Push back against language that frames this as a “conflict” or “war.” Colonization is not a conflict. Resistance is not terrorism.

3. Break Through Propaganda & Help Others Do the Same

Zionist and Western media rely on misinformation and censorship to control the narrative. Educate yourself and help your loved ones see the truth.

Common Myths to Break:

  • “It’s a complicated conflict.” → No, it’s settler colonialism.

  • “Palestinians walked away from peace.” → No, Israel uses ‘peace talks’ to expand apartheid.

  • “Criticizing Israel is antisemitic.” → No, Zionism is not Judaism. Many Jewish people oppose Israeli apartheid.

Decolonize Palestine’s FAQ is a great starting place.

4. Interrupt Complacency in Institutions

Institutions—whether academic, nonprofit, corporate, or religious - often prioritize their own comfort over justice. Make them choose a side.

  • Universities: Demand that your school divests from Israel, removes Zionist propaganda, and provides platforms for Palestinian voices.

  • Workplaces: Organize petitions, town halls, and walkouts to force accountability for corporate complicity.

  • Nonprofits & Faith Groups: Expose investments in Israel, push for statements in solidarity, and refuse to accept performative “peace” rhetoric.

  • Media Outlets: Flood their comment sections, submit articles, and demand Palestinian perspectives be included.

If your institution refuses to take a stand, expose their complicity and disrupt business as usual.

5. Boycott & Cut Off Economic Support for Israel

The Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) Movement is one of the most effective nonviolent strategies for economic resistance. Stop funding genocide.

Boycott companies complicit in apartheid:

  • HP (Hewlett-Packard) – Provides tech for Israeli checkpoints & surveillance.

  • Puma – Sponsors the Israel Football Association, which includes illegal settlement teams.

  • Sabra Hummus – Co-owned by an Israeli company that funds the IDF.

  • Siemens, AXA, SodaStream, Ahava – Profiting from illegal Israeli settlements.

6. Take to the Streets & Engage in Direct Action

Governments will not stop funding Israeli genocide unless they are forced to. Disrupt business as usual.

  • Join protests, marches, and direct actions in your city.

  • Participate in port blockades, campus occupations, and other solidarity actions.

  • Find local Palestine solidarity groups - many Indigenous, Black, and abolitionist-led movements are already connected to this struggle.

Within Our Lifetime provides direct action resources.

7. Fight Zionist Influence in Labor & Institutions

Many labor unions, workplaces, and professional organizations are complicit in Israeli apartheid. Fight from the inside.

  • If you’re in a union, push for a resolution in solidarity with Palestine.

  • Demand your workplace divest from Israeli companies.

  • Challenge non-profits and faith groups that have investments in Israel.

8. Connect Palestinian Liberation to Indigenous & Black Struggles

Zionism is a settler-colonial project - like the colonization of the U.S., Canada, and Australia. Liberation for Palestine is tied to Indigenous land back movements, prison abolition, and anti-imperialist struggle.

  • Stand in solidarity with Indigenous and Black-led movements resisting colonialism and police violence.

  • Support Land Back efforts—understanding that Indigenous struggles and Palestinian liberation are deeply connected.

  • Learn about and uplift groups like Red Nation, Black for Palestine, and Migrant Justice movements fighting the same systems of oppression.

9. Refuse to Be Silent

Western media and governments want people to stay quiet while genocide happens. Don’t let them.

  • Call out media lies—comment on news articles, submit op-eds, and demand Palestinian perspectives be included.

  • Use your social media to amplify Palestinian resistance, not just their suffering.

  • Refuse to let Zionist intimidation tactics silence you—Palestinians risk their lives every day to tell the truth.

If your job, school, or community tries to punish you for speaking out, push back harder. Mobilize legal resources. Build networks of support. Refuse to be intimidated.

Palestinian liberation is not just about Palestine - it is about the freedom of all oppressed peoples. The systems that uphold Zionism are the same ones that uphold white supremacy, police militarization, and global imperialism. The fight for a free Palestine is the fight for total liberation.
